Winder-Barrow climbs in high school football poll, Jefferson, Prince Ave steady

Winder-Barrow moved up a spot in the Georgia Sports Writers Association high school football poll, which was released Tuesday.

 

The Bulldoggs (7-0, 2-0 in Region 8-6A) jumped a spot to No. 8 in Class 6A after a 24-21 win at Lanier Friday. Winder-Barrow is off this week and will host Gainesville Oct. 20.

Jefferson kept its spot at No. 3 in Class 4A after a bye week. The Dragons (5-1, 1-0 in Region 8-4A) host North Oconee at 7 p.m. Friday.

Prince Avenue Christian (7-0, 6-0 in Region 8-A) stayed put at No. 2 in the Class A poll after a 71-7 win at Lakeview Academy. The Wolverines host Hebron Christian at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Athens Academy and Commerce also received votes.
