Georgia’s second week of preseason practice is ending with the team’s first scrimmage of the month on Saturday afternoon in Sanford Stadium.
Isaiah Wynn, the starting left tackle, was spotted for the first time all week. He was dressed out except for a helmet but left the field moments before the media’s one viewing period.
Coach Kirby Smart has said Wynn has dealt with an “illness.”
Freshman Jeremiah Holloman was with the other wide receivers before going the end of the field to work again with director of sports medicine Ron Courson.
Defensive lineman Michail Cater (illness) and wide receiver Tyler Simmons (wrist) were practicing without any noticeable limitation.
—Looked like Ben Cleveland was the No. 1 right tackle with Solomon Kindley at right guard, Lamont Gailliard at center, Andrew Thomas at left guard and Dyshon Sims at left tackle.
—The quarterbacks were all in black jerseys and as usual in scrimmage will presumably be off limits from getting tackled.
—Smart had this comment to make the defensive linemen when they got together by position groups: “I can’t believe you don’t know how to line up in base.”
—Marshall Long was holding on a 42-yard field goal try from Rodrigo Blankenship. Trent Frix was the long snapper. It appeared the Blaneknship missed wide right, but couldn’t be certain from angle behind the hedges.
