What was the star of the 1980s TV show “Webster” and an actor/comedian who was in the “Rush Hour” films doing at Georgia’s football practice Thursday?

“They’re big Dawg fans,” coach Kirby Smart said of Emmanuel Lewis, the former sitcom star, and Chris Tucker who still does stand up shows including one Friday in Milwaukee. “They were excited about the spring game. They talked about wanting to come over for the spring game and wanted to come by practice. I thought it was a great gesture.”

The celebrities “kind of fired up our players when they saw them. It was good to have them over.”

The show “Webster” may be too old for Georgia players to know Lewis, but Smart said he knew all about him.

“Am I a big fan of Webster?” Smart said. “Yeah, I watched the show. It’s my generation.”

Smart said Tucker “is one of the funnier guys I’ve watched and been around. I’m a big fan of his movies.”
