North Oconee beats Jefferson 1-0, Lady Titans clinch second in Region 8-AAAA

A home game in the state tournament was on the line in Thursday night’s North Oconee-Jefferson girls’ soccer game.

With St. Pius winning the region, the Lady Titans and Lady Dragons met at NOHS with the winner getting second place and a home game in the first round of state next week.

Camryn Chiu, who earlier in the week got to meet Atlanta Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson, scored with 16:23 left in the second half to propel the Lady Titans to a 1-0 win. Goalkeeper Kamryn Black posted the shutout.

The Lady Titans finished 4-1 in the region and 12-4 overall. Jefferson finished 2-3 in the region, tied with Oconee County and Madison County.
