GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD | North Oconee wins at Jefferson

At the Jefferson Relays, North Oconee had five first-place finishes to win the 11-team competition, scoring 126 points to Jefferson’s 119.5.

Athens Christian was third (72 points), followed by North Oldham (KY) (63 points), North Hall (58.5 points), Washington-Wilkes (55 points), Winder-Barrow (38 points), Madison County (29 points), Banks County (25 point), Monroe Area (25 points) and George Walton (4 points).

Individual event winners for the Titans included Sheleah Harris (100 meters) and Cody Chandler (discus). North Oconee also got victories from the 4x800 relay team (Mackenzie Morse, Anna Cobb, Gabby Huff-Streiter and Korey Dickerson), the 4x1,600 relay team (Morse, Melanie Bowden, Huff-Streiter and Kate Mattison) and the distance medley relay team (Peyton Coates, Cobb, Bowden and Jazmine Davilla).

For Jefferson, Akera Benton won the triple jump and Ellie Isaacs won the shot put. The 4x400 relay team (Taylor Love, Mik Fowler, Madelyn Lowe and Benton) was also victorious.

Athens Christian’s Madison Pickerel won the high jump and Madison County’s Journey Gurley won the pole vault.
