Bulldog Sporting Goods is postponing the closure of its Baxter Street store, owner Woody Chastain said.

Chastain initially planned to close the doors to his brick-and-mortar location on Wednesday and then sell the remainder of his inventory online.

However, an influx of customers has encouraged him to keep the doors to the nearly 50-year-old business open a little while longer — until at least next Friday.

“We’ll stay open as long as we have merchandise to sell,” Chastain said, adding that all of the inventory is discounted 50 percent.

The Baxter Street location is the last of four Bulldog Sporting Goods stores Chastain operated in the last 49 years.
