Katie Buckles Reeves and Frank Thompson of Coldwell Banker Commercial Upchurch Realty flew out to California to take part in a comprehensive training session for emerging brokers.
The emerging broker training, offered to sales and leasing professionals with less than 18 months of commercial real estate experience, is a four-month program comprised of two live session seminars, bimonthly webinar sessions, and field work.
The program covers the key components of the commercial real estate industry and is a blend of traditional classroom learning followed by bimonthly live webinar sessions, self-paced learning, and structured participation of a mentor in the home office. The program then ends with three more days of classroom learning.
The first live session and introduction was held the week of Feb. 7 on the Queen Mary in Long Beach, Calif. The session encompassed four rigorous days of networking and training. Having completed that session, Reeves and Thompson will spend the next few months participating in bimonthly webinar sessions and completing field work until the next live session.
The second session will be held in Madison, N.J., in May, at the Coldwell Banker Corporate Campus. A graduation ceremony will be held for the trainees upon completion of the second session.
