A pedestrian was injured Friday morning when struck by a van while crossing Prince Avenue, Athens-Clarke County police said.

The collision occurred at about 8 a.m. as the man crossed the busy four-lane street in front of Dunkin’ Donuts in the 700 block of Prince Avenue, police said.

Police spokesman Epifanio Rodriguez said he did not know if the victim was within a pedestrian crosswalk when struck, but he said that the van’s driver was not charged with any offenses.

Rodriguez said he did not immediately know on Friday the victim’s name, age, nor where he lived.
