Task force makes arrest in Athens drug investigation

Robert Daniel Bartlett

Athens-Clarke County police released an incident report Tuesday of a search and arrest operation that occurred July 5 at 122 Sweetgum Way off Danielsville Road, which resulted in one arrest and five other people being identified as possible offenders.

The search and arrest resulted from an ongoing investigation by the Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force, according to the police report.

The arrested person was identified in the report as 27-year-old Robert Daniel Bartlett. His address was redacted from the police report, but the Clarke County Jail website listed him as living on Vine Street.

Bartlett was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession to distribute other unidentified controlled substances, and two counts of criminal conspiracy.

The other alleged offenders ranged in age from 19 to 28.

The police report also listed a 20-year-old woman from Winder as a “person of interest.”

Athens-Clarke County Police Chief Scott Freeman said additional information is being withheld to protect “the integrity of the ongoing investigation.”
