Madison County Library holds several events

• The Madison County Library is announcing its adult career program. On Tuesday, the library will feature a scientist who will discuss her past 30 years of work. The scientist, Cathy Pentz, will use a food outbreak investigation scenario to explore the number of careers involved in the process, their educational requirements and pay. The event will also look into opportunities for jobs related to public health. The free event starts at 6:30 p.m.

• The library holds an educational science event named Science Kit Fun at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The free program is available for anyone ages 5 or older and will feature new “Shareables,” or kits of educational toys. Some Shareables can be checked out with a library card.

• The library holds its “Read to Rover” event on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 3 p.m. The event allows beginner readers to read to a certified therapy dog, Ally. The free, first-come-first-serve program will allow readers a private session to read to the puppy.
