The Winder-Barrow Bulldogg Battalion Raiders found early success this year winning first place honors on its first competition of the season.

By the end of the season the JROTC members were state champions.

On Oct. 28, the 2017 Raider Team traveled to Spalding High School in Griffin for the statewide competition and won first place in the tire flip and the one rope bridge, third place in the Raider Fitness Course, fourth place in the Cross Country Rescue and fifth place in the team run.

Collectively, and by a narrow margin, the Winder Barrow High School Raiders Mixed Team edged out North Paulding High School and Stephens County teams along with six other Tier-3 mixed teams to earn its first State Championship title.
