George and Autumn Strickland, of Danielsville, are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Amanda Addie Strickland, to Matthew Thomas McCall, son of Jim and Sandra Jeffer, of Hull, and Larry and Charm McCall, of Hoschton.
The wedding was held at Danielsville United Methodist Church on April 23, 2016, with the Rev. Calvin Ward officiating. A reception followed at the home of the bride’s parents.
The bride was attended by her sister-in-law, Carlton Strickland, as Matron of Honor. The bride’s friend, Jessica Dawn Perry; the groom’s niece, Bailey Renea Martin; and the bride’s cousin, Tara Moon Thomas, served as bridesmaids. The bride’s niece, Emily Carrington Strickland, served as flower girl.
The groom was attended by his father, Larry Thomas McCall, as Best Man. The groom’s friend, Richard Love Booth II; his brother, Charles Travis Martin II; and the bride’s brother, Robert George “Tripp” Strickland III, served as groomsmen. The bride’s nephew, Robert George Strickland IV, served as ring bearer.
Mrs. Christine Smith was the guest book attendant and Miss MaryPaige Powell distributed the programs. Mrs. Sabrina Bennett was the wedding director.
Amanda wore a strapless trumpet-style antique white gown of French silk and lace that was accented at the waist with her grandmother's broach and complimented with an intricately designed bolero and cathedral-length veil. She carried a lace handkerchief from Ireland, a gift from her parents. Her bouquet was cascading and consisted of white O'Hara garden roses, blush peonies, white ranunculus, phalaenopsis and dendrobium orchids, hanging amarantus, and Italian ruscus expertly designed by Daffodil Hill Florist.
The couple was blessed with other events, including an announcement party held at the Currahee Country Club in Toccoa, hosted by the family of the bride and groom; trousseau tea and bridesmaid luncheon given by the bride's family; and numerous luncheons, teas and showers by friends and family. A rehearsal dinner held at The Graduate was hosted by the family of the groom.
The wedding ceremony featured a prelude of worship. The musicians included violinists MattieGrace and MaisyBeth Farrow, and vocalist Robert George Strickland III, all of whom were accompanied by pianist Franleata Blackmon. The reception was held at the open home of the bride's parents. A dozen of the Stricklands’ closest friends and family mingled with and greeted the guests. A traditional English bride's breakfast was served. Guests were serenaded by harpist Sueleta Sorrells, followed by a five-piece band to which the guests danced.
At the end of the reception, the couple exited in a shower of rose petals distributed by cousins of the bride and groom.
