Christine Natalie Collins and Jeffrey David Boyd of Austin, Texas were united in marriage on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Athens, Georgia. Reverend Frank Granger officiated.
Christine is the daughter of the late Cathy Edwards Collins of Athens and Ray and Cyndi Collins of Oak Island, North Carolina. She is the granddaughter of the late Mahlon and Dorothea Ann Edwards of Athens and the late Dr. Thomas Asa and Anne Collins of Raleigh, North Carolina.
Jeff is the son of Ed and Aimee Boyd of Athens. He is the grandson of the late Clarence and Hilma Oakley and the late Charlie and Leon Boyd of Roxboro, North Carolina.
Danielle Faure of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands was the Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Christine Aylor of Houston, Texas; Maggie Bridges of Athens, Georgia; Dena Holliday of Austin, Texas; and Katherine Kincaid Shouse of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Alex Phipps of Austin, Texas was the Best Man. Groomsmen were Guy Blanchard of Freeport, Maine; Steven Crim of Athens, Georgia; Thomas Fitzgerald of Nashville, Tennessee; and Neill Minish of Phoenix, Arizona.
Wedding music was performed by Laura Boyd, violinist, and Damon Denton, pianist. A reading of "Friendship" by Judy Bielicki was given by Karen Boyd Pannell, sister of the groom, of San Diego, California, and scripture was presented by Mahla Swinford, aunt of the bride, of Newport News, Virginia.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Melting Point. The rehearsal dinner was held at NONA on the eve of the wedding, and a bridal brunch hosted by Mahla Swinford was held at the Foundry Park Inn and Spa.
The couple honeymooned in South Africa where they enjoyed visiting the beaches and winelands around Cape Town. They concluded their honeymoon with a safari at Sabi Sands Game Reserve.
Jeff and Christine reside in Austin, Texas.
