Chrisohon-Baird Wedding

Pam Daniels, of Athens, and Bill and Janet Chrisohon, of Winterville, are pleased to announce the marriage of their son, Nicholas Jay Chrisohon, to Emily Rebecca Baird, daughter of Dr. John Paul and Beverly Baird, of Florence, Ala.


The groom is the grandson of the late Spiro and Winnie Chrisohon, Ray and the late Lillian W. McDonald, the late Frederick E. Tidwell Sr., and the late Leon Foster. Nicholas received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia in 2009 and his Master of Divinity degree from Vanderbilt University in 2012. He is currently employed as a menu management coordinator at Vanderbilt University, in Nashville, Tenn.

The bride is the granddaughter of the late Dennis and Maurine Welch and the late Doyle and Rose Lea Baird. Emily received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Berry College in 2010 and her Master of Divinity degree from Vanderbilt University in 2014. She is currently employed as an event manager at Cumberland Transit, in Nashville, Tenn.

The wedding ceremony was held at Belmont United Methodist Church, in Nashville, on August 9, 2014, with the Rev. Trudy Stringer and John Collett officiating. A reception followed at Marathon Village, in Nashville.

The groom's Best Man was Matt Bales, of Athens. He was also attended by his brother, Drew Chrisohon, of Statham; Josh Jones, of Buckhead; Marcus Womack, of Little Elm, Texas; and Laura Stewart, of Decatur. His nephew, Eli Chrisohon, of Statham, served as the ring bearer.

The bride wore an ivory lace fit-and-flair gown by Nashville designer Olia Zavozina. She was escorted by her father, and her Matron of Honor was Lauren Wissert Bullis, of Nashville, Tenn. She was also attended by Lauren Mitchell Echols, of Nashville; Juliana Fritts, of Atlanta; Caroline Adams, of Nashville; and Ryan Kindahl, of Florence, Ala. Kate Fulton, of Rome, and Hartley Mae Chrisohon, niece of the groom, of Statham, served as flower girls.

The ushers were Chet McKinney, friend of the bride, of Florence, Ala.; Hunter Pugh, friend of the couple, of Verbena, Ala.; and Nick Greer, friend of the groom, of Athens; with David Baird, brother of the bride, of Sugarland, Texas, serving as lead usher.

The newlyweds spent their honeymoon on the island of St. Martin. They now reside in Nashville, Tenn.
