Athens woman arrested after confrontation with boyfriend

Jessie Mary Pearson, 26, was arrested Sunday evening after a violent altercation in which she damaged various household items and injured her boyfriend, Athens-Clarke County police said.

The couple got into an argument after Pearson objected to the way her boyfriend yelled for their children to come to the dinner table, police said. The woman flew into a fit of rage in which she threw a microwave oven out of the kitchen window, shattered the TV by punching it, then turned over a coffee table and threw its broken pieces outside, police said.

When asked how he got a small knot on his forehead, the man told police he was struck by a fork thrown by Pearson, according to police.

Pearson was charged under the state Family Violence Act with simple battery and criminal trespass/damage to property.
